Bulls vs. Golden State Warriors preview and open thread

Chicago Bulls (10-31) vs. Golden State Warriors (27-14)

9:30 p.m., NBC Sports Chicago

Injury Report:

Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine is listed as probable for the game tonight because of left ankle soreness. This is the same ankle that he sprained at the end of December.

DeMarcus Cousins is eyeing the Jan. 18 matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers for his season debut. That’s good news for the Bulls tonight. Shaun Livingston was a full participant in practice yesterday and the Warriors have listed him as probable for tonight (left knee).

The Last Time:

Let’s not talk about it. Still trying to erase that crap from my memory.

When will the Bulls win again?

Already mired in a five-game losing streak, the Chicago Bulls have a difficult road ahead.

They’re playing in their de facto circus trip of year’s gone by. They have a game against Golden State tonight, the Utah Jazz on Saturday, the (albeit LeBron-less) Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, and the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

The losing streak will likely hit nine games as the Bulls quest for worst record in the NBA is about to get a boost.

Rating watch

Offensive rating. Last. Pace second to last. True-shooting percentage? Third to last. 3-point field goals attempted. Last. Points per game. Second to last.

And in the last 4 games, the defense is slipping too. After starting top 10 under Boylen, they’re down to 16th and falling fast. Ranked 28th over last 4 games.

But John Paxson says it’s not about that, it’s “seeing development”. So first try and figure out what that means then watch with that in mind?
